TOP asian restaurant in Toronto in 2017

The best Chinese restaurants in Toronto represent just a fraction of the varied selection of regional offerings accessible here. And though many would assert you should head to Richmond and Markham Hill to get the actual deal, our downtown Chinatowns, Scarborough and parts in between still have their share of winners.

Luckee

This upscale restaurant from Susur Lee inside the Soho Met features all-day dim sum, sweet-delectable Wuxi spare ribs and fancy cocktails, all served beneath the glow of some garish quasi- lightings and stereotypical Chinese decorations.

Sam Woo BBQ

This Scarborough mainstay continues to be meeting old-school Cantonese BBQ pork enthusiasts for over twenty years. Soft and absolutely crispy roast pork skin BBQ pork meat blended with old-school unfussy décor makes for an awesome meal.

Rol San

This late night Chinatown favourite is constantly jam packed with those who can not get enough of their classics like spicy ginger beef and ho supporter noodles. And of course, it has a really popular all-day dim sum.

Asian Legend

By far the largest mainstay Chinese restaurant chain in Toronto, this eatery is the area to go when you’re searching for a huge selection of authentic Chinese offerings. I’m a big fan of the Peking duck, and also the soup dumplings here are constantly on my order list.

Qin Tang Taste

Home to the awesomely chewy biang biang noodles and also other Shanxi fortes, this small Scarborough restaurant is obviously the first Toronto location of a large Beijing-based chain. My personal favourite? The Shanxi Slit Noodle with Stir-Fried Pork Pieces. Dish that is delightful, long name.

Taste of China

The incredibly cumbersome name doesn’t detract from the fact that Taste of China is, for many, a taste of superiority. Popular among the late night crowd for sizzling seafood on frying pans and its exceptional General Tao Chicken, it’s one of the places that you just simply need to go when you’re in downtown Chinatown.

House of Gourmet

This restaurant near Dundas and Spadina looks poor in the surface but is a constant hub of action, with excellent dishes like satay beef noodles and claypot tofus. It even has a committed takeout BBQ joint, perfect for all those nights when you just need to feast on duck or pork on your couch.

Congee Wong (Finch and Leslie)

For my money my favourite one is the North York location, although there are a lot of Congee Wongs around that it can make your head spin. Sure it may get crowded during mealtimes, but it late, as well as their Cantonese Chow Mein Fried Chili Turnip Patties never fails to make me grin.
